Sabrina Claudio Amazes With "Wanna Know"

February 14, 2018 by Chet Kincaid in Music

So while all the lovebirds are out enjoying Valentine's Day I am here enjoying some self company.

I have also been using this time to catch up on The Friend Zone podcast. In one of the episodes Fran revealed that she was listening to Sabrina Claudio's latest release. I never heard of Claudio so I decided to check her out. So I skimmed through the album and...

FM²: Have We Already Witnessed The Last Female Music Megastar?

January 28, 2018 by Chet Kincaid in Music

A Female Music Megastar is defined as an entertainer who has become a household name. In most cases, her persona is recognized before her music is, by the casual music listener. The women associated with this title will be referred to as FM²'s.

As the 2018 Grammy awards just finished airing, it was another year showcasing some of the talent, some of the female talent. So the other week I was speaking with a friend and the conversation led to the music industry. I asked, "Do you think there will be another Beyoncé or Rihanna?" He replied, "No..." Your first question must be, "Why just Rihanna or Beyoncé?" The reasons these two ladies immediately popped up in my mind are, they managed to maintain a level of relevance, frequent visibility and global recognition for the past 13-15 years as solo artists.

Top Streams of 2017, According To Spotify

December 27, 2017 by Chet Kincaid in Music

It is about to be 2018 but before I hop into this upcoming bountiful year, Spotify has helped with collecting the artists and songs that I kept on repeat throughout 2017. According to 2017wrapped.com, I listened to 42,225 minutes of music. That is 703.75 hours, or 29.3 days of non-stop listening. So basically, that's a February, on a leap year, worth of music listening. Music is a stimulant for me.

So About "Bartier Cardi"...

December 22, 2017 by Chet Kincaid in Music

Earlier this morning, my girl, our girl, Cardi B released the official follow-up to 2017's summer smash, "Bodak Yellow."

"Bartier Cardi" is the follow-up casual fans have been waiting for. The reason why I say casual is, Cardi has so much music at this point, from her solo tracks to features but for those that just hopped on the bandwagon during "Bodak Yellow," she is just a one hit wonder. Well I am here to tell ya, Cardi is here to dominate the charts again.

SZA Solidified: A 6 Hour Experience At 'The Ctrl Tour'

December 17, 2017 by Chet Kincaid in Music

It was five months in the making, last week Monday, SZA's 'The Ctrl' tour hit New York City.

I first became a fan of SZA back in 2014 around the time "Babylon" was released. Her TDE intro video also pulled me into her as a talent. Shout out to Top Dawg Entertainment for taking the time to groom SZA and not throw her away when she did not blow up right away. In 2016, she was featured on "Consideration" with Rihanna but for me, it was her late night television debut on Jimmy Kimmel that turned me from a casual SZA fan to a SZA lover. I instantly fell in love with the doll face beauty during that performance; it was SZA's reemergence.

Ed Sheeran Continues "Perfect" Streak With Andrea Bocelli

December 15, 2017 by Chet Kincaid in Music

Ed Sheeran is not lifting his foot off our necks. He released another version of his perfect duet.

He gave us the already magical "Perfect," then the duet with Beyoncé and now a new duet with iconic Italian tenor, Andrea Bocelli. If you know me then you know that my favorite duet of all time is "Con Te Partirò" featuring Sarah Brightman. This is a man I have so much adoration for so I wasted no time in taking in a listen.

I Cannot Get Enough of "Bathwater"

December 12, 2017 by Chet Kincaid in Music

There I was, perusing through some random Spotify playlist when I landed on this unexpected sonic beauty.

I do not know much about Weslee but I know I love "Bathwater." It is the perfect formula of a pretty melody taking the listener into euphoria. I have been playing this song nonstop since I heard this last week.
