2018: The Year of Elevation — The Kincaid Journal

Happy happy New Year to you all!

Biblically speaking, the year seven is said to be the year of completion and eight is the start of something new. Well year 2018, I welcome you with open arms as I have been referring to you as the bountiful year for the past two months.

Also, I feel this way because my new year started off differently. Since I moved to New York City, in 2014, I attended the same New Year's Eve party where I would bring in the new year wearing a well thought out blazer and holding a glass of champagne. This year circumstances changed that and I ended up attending church (Watch Night Service).

By the tone of this post you might think I am very religious. I am not but I did grow up going to church back in The Bahamas so to be back in it for the first time, during a Watch Night Service, made my eyes somewhat heavy with emotion. The message of the sermon was elevation; the new year was titled, The Year of Elevation."

Also, the photo attached to this post serves meaning. The color red is significant because red signifies energy, strength, power, determination, passion, desire and love. Red also happens to be the favorite color of mine and my father.

Last year and the year before I remained optimistic but this year I can feel the enrgy. So again, Happy New Year to you all. I wish you nothing but your your best.
