Why I Quit My Retail Job After Six Years + Advice

June 15, 2021 by Chet Kincaid in Personal

Hello Kincaid Viewers,

As always, I hope you’ve been well and are keeping safe as the world starts to reopen.

It is time for a story. Yes, the title says it all. After six “interesting” years I decided to take a leap of faith and quit my main source of income: fashion retail. There was much thought put into this decision and I don’t want you to think for one second that this was an impulsive decision.

I also want to use this as an opportunity to clarify some portions of the video that may come across as insensitive to viewers. Here I am giving up a job while many are out of work during this pandemic. By me describing my three months at home as a vacation, I was simply saying it was the much needed rest I needed after almost burning out. Of course my heart my goes out to those who did and are still suffering during this pandemic.

I do hope that no matter what, you, as a viewer, are able to take away the positive from this video.

Lastly, I want to thank Sherice Major of @shesomajor | shesomajor.com for inspiring this vlog post with her “Yes, I Quit My Job” vlog.

Sincerely,

Chet A. Kincaid.
