Seventeen Songs That Made My Summer '17

Summer 2017 does not officially end until Friday, September 22 but for most people August is the end of sunny days of fun. Summer, well life alone is nothing without music so of course there have been a handful of songs that played the soundtrack to my Summer 2017. 1. Black Coffee "Superman" featuring Bucie

Thanks to the mainstream powerhouse that is Drake, I was made aware of "Superman." The eight year old song was the perfect song for many nights out.

This song's vibe is just so chill. I am speaking about laying out in the sun, sipping a beer and just making memories with good company.

3. MÖWE feat Cleah - Back In The Summer (Niklas Ibach Remix)

This song is summer and not just because of the season being in the title. This is an ultimate feel good song.

I heard this play in a retail store, Shazam'd it and it was on repeat for a full week. Summer and romance go hand in hand.

"Browse New Music" Friday's is a thing for me on my music apps and when Big Boi's album dropped this was definitely a standout track for me.

6. 2 Chainz "Door Swangin'"

When I made this this I was surprised to find out how many of the songs I chose were already single choices. Do I have an ear for what the masses like? Whatever it is, this is one of my favorites from 2 Chainz latest album.

7. Yo Gotti, Mike WiLL Made-It "Rake It Up" featuring Nicki Minaj

You've heard the chorus, get into it. This is definitely one of my most played this summer.

8. Kendrick Lamar "XXX" featuring U2

I'll be honest I'm no stan for Lamar but I recognize his talent and status. This U2-featured song is a highlight on 'DAMN.'

I heard this song early on in the season and I solely played this for four days. I love this melody and instrumental.

10. Justine Skye "Back For More" featuring Jeremih

HAH! One of my closest friends have been getting me to hop on the Justine bandwagon and this by favorite track of hers followed by "I'm Yours" featuring Vic Mensa. This song also came at the perfect time this summer... "You don't miss a good thing until it's gone..."

11. SZA "Drew Barrymore"

This song right here brought me back to SZA. I anticipated the release of her debut album but this is the music industry where a year can be equivalent to a decade in time passed, so I lost touch with her career. After her performance, of this gem on Jimmy Kimmel, I was back in "SZAdom."

I'll be honest, I overlooked this song when 'S.S.S.' was released but after a viewing of 'Girls Trip'... "Thank You" is the first song played in the credits and it wraps up the movie quite nicely plus it stands tall on its own.

WOAH! I've been listening to this since February. I like this so much that I stuck with it through throughout Spring and Summer. This, is a sexy song.

17. DJ Khaled "Wild Thoughts" featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller

When I first read that this song would be sampling Carlos Santana's "Maria, Maria" I was turned off immediately. I wanted something new and fresh but to my surprise this trio delivered and earned their high ranking at the top of the charts, in my humble opinion.
